I recently viewed Fur – An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus. The imaginary part was quite apparent, I’m almost certain that this film had little to nothing to do with the photographer. Fur’s opening scene involves Diane Arbus (Nicole Kidman) en route to photograph a nudist camp, which – much to my approval – was called Camp Venus. The whole movie tilts on the border of it’s erotic pretext, it is all consistently imaginative and equally peculiar. A very beautiful story of self acceptance and the allowing of that self.
